A lot has been going on since the last time we’ve posted. We went camping a couple more times, Jake went boating again, and he continued to grow like all little boys do! Here are some photos from the past couple of weeks.
Camping with Grandma and Grandpa Schneider
Oh I can’t remember the date now, I want to say it was the weekend of August 16th. But anyways, we went camping with Grandma and Grandpa Schneider in The Meadow over the weekend of the 4H fair in Red Lodge. Garret and Lindey were showing their pigs so we wanted to make sure to be there for their big reveal! Kyle and I learned the game of Aggravation from Grandma and Grandpa and the name of the game is very fitting. I do have to say though, Grandpa and I beat the heck out of Grandma and Kyle one night. I think we won four games in a row. Grandma swears that we cheated…we know the truth Grandpa!!!

A boating we did go!
We met Blake at Deadman’s Basin. It was Jake’s first time boating and of course it was going to be 90 some degrees. (Figures) He did really well though. Ryan came along with us, we caught one fish, Kyle and Ryan went tubing, and we spread the last of Mike’s ashes on the North side of the lake near a lone tree. It seemed very fitting…
Anyways, I was so thankful that Blake got to finally spend some time with our little guy. We took lots of pictures, here are a few…

My internet was down…
And it’s finally back up and running again!
There is a TON of stuff to show off, lots of pictures and lots of stories. I’ll have to look back and see where I left off and will post accordingly. It’s nice to be back!

Fourth of July week
We left for the Beartooth mountains on Wednesday afternoon. After two days and three nights of camping, we headed back toward the valley. It was Jake’s first time camping for more than one night and he did absolutely awesome! (He actually slept better there than he does at home!) Our friends JJ and Steph joined us for a couple of the nights while we were there and we all had a blast sitting out by the fire playing poker and Pictionary.
When Kyle and I got back to town we floated the Yellowstone for the first time this season. It’s running around 25,000cfps (normally I like to go when it’s around 18,000 but I gave in) so it only took us an hour and a half to go from our access in our subidvision to Laurel.
No fireworks at this house this year. (A FIRST!) But we cashed in on the day after sales and have stocked up for next year.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday. Happy Birthday to the USA!
To Glendive we went, a camping we will go!
Sorry it’s been such a long time since our last post. We’ve been busy!
Last weekend we went to Glendive to visit my Grandparents for my Grandma’s Birthday. Jake did really good on the drive and slept like a champ in the hotel room. (Now, if only he’d learn to sleep like that at home!)
We’re leaving today for The Beartooth’s. I’m not quite sure where we’re going camping but Kyle seems to have his heart set somewhere up in the valley. I’m really looking forward to getting the heck out of town. For some reason I need a mountain vacation.
Anyways, we’ll be back on the Fourth of July to skeet the river. (Rafting the river for those of you that don’t know what “Skeeting” is. We kind of coined the term.) Till then…
Rollin’, Rollin’, Rollin’ – Can’t stop that baby from rollin’
Well we have a rolling baby! I noticed last week that he was really working hard trying to get himself onto his tummy. Now, all he does is roll! Initially Jake rolled from his back to his tummy and just yesterday he figured out how to roll from his tummy to his back. It’s made for a couple long nights (We were swaddling him. Once they begin to roll it’s not safe to swaddle any longer…) but he’s been getting better! I actually caught him rolling on my camera yesterday – pretty perfect timing!
I’ll also include some pictures from the last week or so. He’s really come to love bath time and he absolutely loves being outside. Enjoy!
Three Months! Or Twelve Weeks…
I know I know, some people go by weeks and some people go by actual days. (In that case, Jake wouldn’t be three months old until next Monday…bah…) We got ambitious and took our three month photos this morning anways! The sun has finally returned to Montana and the wind made its way East. Finally!!
For your viewing pleasure, here’s the little guy all growed up.
Like everyone says, they really do grow up fast.
Spring has sprung…or is it Summer?
I swear it feels like winter! The rains have come and have been falling for at least a week. Well, it may not be a week but it sure feels like it! Last night we had to cover the garden because of the danger of frost. Last year we lost our garden the second week in June and it looks like it’s a possibility yet again this year. But, like I said, we covered it last night and will be doing the same this evening. I would be soooooo…ummm…upset, if we lost our garden like we did last year. It was a huge loss. But…
Jake will be three months this week which blows my mind. He’s using his legs all the time and stays up for longer periods of time now and then. (He still loves his naps though…he must take four or five of them a day still!) He’s getting so much more responsive by the day and lately he’s been sleeping really well. You never know though, that can change pretty quickly!!
Enjoy the photos. My irises have sprung, Jake is getting cuter by the moment and the garden is in the works.
Until next time,
Ashley, Kyle & Jacob
